5 Tips to Feeling Beautiful at Home During a Global Pandemic

The global community is dealing with and trying to overcome this unusual crisis that is covid-19. There’s a lot of uncertainty out there but one idea is for certain, you have the power to protect your health and maintain a sense of wellbeing. In exercising that power, we are all self isolating at home. However that doesn’t mean you should neglect all that propels your sense of wellness. Here are five tips to keep you feeling beautiful at home.

1. Have a scheduled morning yoga session. A daily yoga session physically helps to stretch shortened muscle groups and connective tissues of the body. Most importantly it invigorate your sense of mental wellness and overall purpose. You may follow a guided session on YouTube or follow an instructor through a paid fitness subscription app or maybe do you own sequence of poses and stretches.

2. This is the time to wash your hair and restyle. With the gift of time bestowed upon us, hair washing can now take as long as you wish. You might even get fancy and deep condition your hair overnight. How washing hair translates to mental calmness is obvious, right? Thinking about that cleansed feeling the last time might be cerebral then automatically inducing a sense of calm in the rest of the body as well. However I’ll explain, when you have moist or damp hair follicles your hair becomes heavy, as a result it gives your scalp a gentle tug. That tug stimulates the cranial nerves, veins increasing blood circulation and oxygenating the brain. The central nervous system is now awakened and chemical messengers are indicating to the entire body to relax.

3. Pedicure and manicure your nails then whiten your teeth. You might even choose to do all three at the same time. Overall self care and loving yourself is the first step to allowing others to love you.

4. Stimulate your brain by reading a book. Whatever your interests are there’s a book for you. I highly recommend reading however, there’s audiobooks for those who prefer to listen. Immerse yourself in that book and transcend yourself spiritually to the time and place described in that book for a sense of travel or disconnection from reality.

5. Play your favorite music playlist and have a dance party. When you dance you increase blood circulation, flushing stale ones away, rejuvenating with fresh ones that’ll deliver nutrients through out your body. Also you’ll allow for continued muscle growth. When a favorite song comes on, it transcends your thoughts to happier times. Internally releasing endorphins; you know, the feel good chemical into the brain.

When we feel good about ourselves, it translates into overall beauty.

I’m wishing you all optimal health and lasting wellness! 🙏🏽
